Meet your 2021 officials

Tamsyn Devilliers is an accomplished dancer as well as a choreographer, producer and adjudicator. She has competed for many years in ballroom and international Latin competitions worldwide. She has won a number of dance titles including the South African Latin Champion, Bournemouth Masters Latin Champion, and is a 3-time Triple Crown American Smooth Champion. Tamsyn has choreographed a variety and dance shows in many countries around the world including South Africa, the Middle East and here in the United States, including our Motown Showcase! Ms. Devilliers is currently adjudicating on the Ballroom and Latin dance competition circuit.

Jennifer Foster is a former 3-time US Professional Theatre Arts Champion, American Rhythm Finalist, Cabaret Finalist and Blackpool Invitational Cabaret Finalist as well as World finalist.

She has developed many US Pro Am gentleman champions and finalists and continues to teach and coach while she runs her health coaching business, The Nature of Health.

Robert Foster is a former 3-time US Professional Theatre Arts Champion, American Rhythm Finalist, Cabaret Finalist and Blackpool Invitational Cabaret Finalist and World finalist.

He has created choreography for several award winning pro-am and professional show dance couples and received a regional Emmy nomination for choreography for a Subway commercial, which he and his wife Jennifer starred in.

Kem Overby

Kem Overby, a certified Grand Master, began his career in 1975 as an assistant in a college disco class.  Over the next 4 decades, he was able to train with with some of the top Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire, and Independent coaches in the world.   He began judging students in 1980 and judging teachers in 1981.  Specializing in Pro/Am competitions mainly, Kem's teams have won hundreds of Top Student, Top Teacher, and Top Studio Awards.  On the Pro/Pro circuit, He was a Rising Star Finalist and an Open Championship finalist.  In 2019, Kem also began competing Pro/Am and Pro/Pro on a National Country Western Circuit.

Currently Kem is certified to judge Championship Levels in American Smooth and Rhythm.  As well as Championship Levels in International Standard and Latin.  He is also a registered Examiner for DanceVision. 

Tony is a veteran broadcast journalist with a career of over 4,000 newscasts on CNN, NBC, and Fox Television.  As a director and technical director for in broadcast sports, his work includes NASCAR Races, NBA games, and work for the NHL and NFL!

 

He is the co-anchor for the popular series Ballroom Backstage.  As a dancer, he holds 12 Top instructor awards, 18 top studio Awards and is a US National Cabaret Finalist.

Sam Gordon is a professional dancer, director, choreographer, producer and studio owner with nearly thirty years’ experience in the ballroom dance industry. Graduating with a B.S. degree in robotics, Sam’ career took a very different turn in 1991 when he began teaching dance as a job in between positions. Now, he is a three-time, Triple Crown, American Ballroom Champion. Sam is nationally renowned as both a certified ballroom dance competition judge and a licensed scrutineer/registrar. He has produced, designed, choreographed multiple ballroom dance performances in studio and on stages throughout the country.
